Sources of Energy
Most of the world’s energy still comes from burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas, which release large amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat and drive global warming.
In contrast, cleaner energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydro produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions, making the choice of energy sources a key factor in either worsening or slowing climate change.
The following series of blog posts describe each source of energy, giving details on their production, use and environmental impact.
